Denver & Fort Collins, CO December 6, 2004 -- Matrix Marketing Group, Inc. today announced signing of an agreement with Wacom Technologies, Inc., Vancouver, Washington, to provide specialized promotion and publicity for its cordless pen/cordless mouse tablet technology, an alternative to the traditional computer mouse. Known for introducing the first wireless pen tablet to North American computer users in 1989, and boosting three million users worldwide, Wacom is the recognized world leader in pen tablet technology.
With offices in Denver, Fort Collins, Vermont and Utah, Matrix Marketing Group is a sales and marketing firm helping small- to medium-sized companies in the areas of marketing, branding, and growth strategies. The Wacom contract is for the Pay for Performance Public Relations Program, an alternative to traditional retainer models for public relations services. Specific terms of the contract were not disclosed, but the typical contract for this program minimizes risk by requiring client companies to pay only for quantifiable public relations results. Wacoms intention in partnering with Matrix Marketing Group is to increase coverage outside of the companys traditional media base of PC magazines, gadget magazines, and professional photography magazines. Through the Pay for Performance Program, the Wacom line of products will receive first-time exposure in lifestyle magazines, parenting magazines, womens magazines and crafts publications.
Scott Rawlings, Vice President of Marketing for Wacom Technologies, said, We like the fact that Matrix Marketing Group has designed an agreement requiring payment upon delivery for placements within a media list that Wacom approves. That provides a good accountability model. Its also a chance for us to work synergistically with seasoned professionals. Already weve uncovered fresh ideas on how to break into magazines and new media where our products were not as well known.
Commenting on the agreement, Matrix Marketing Group President and CEO George Schildge said, We are delighted to be working with a category leader such as Wacom Technologies. This is truly a team approach to taking their very compelling story to a wider audience. Wacom products are often selected as Editors Choice winners when reviewed by experts, yet among the general public there is a lack of awareness for their consumer lines such as the Intuos3 and the Graphire3, which starts at under $100. Weve already begun to remedy that situation. Schildge appointed Marketing Services Director John Hafnor to handle the account.
